“Balancing school, work, life and training in the past few years have been tough. I mean like I said earlier if it’s something I enjoy it’s kind of like you can get away from school, get away from work, it’s not something I think about it’s just something I do. I like it there on the water or if we are in the wintertime in the gym, I guess it’s an escape.
You always get hard weeks I guess, or just times where you feel like you’re not improving and times where you feel like whatever you do you’re just getting worst, you’re just tired but I just remind myself that I like doing what I’m doing, remind myself that it’s not always going to feel good, not always going to feel the best but that’s like life I guess? Same thing when I’m in school, sometimes I’m like what am I doing with my life but I just get over it because next week’s better, next day’s better. Balancing everything you know, balancing relationships with my friends, school, paddling, sometimes I feel like I have a lot on my plate and kind of hard to get a good amount of everything in there so I have to sacrifice a lot. It’s tough because you don’t always know if you are doing the right thing but I feel like it’s the right thing for me so that makes me keep doing it.” – Patrick Dann, Canadian Kayaker. (3/3)
