My name is Alochen Rajaratnam and I’m a college student who has grown to love fitness and bodybuilding.
Growing up I was overweight as I had no knowledge on diet and nutrition. I was an insecure and introverted kid growing up who spent most of my leisure time playing video games and eating junk food. I got to a point where I was unhappy with who I am.
Being insecure, not having many friends, and most importantly not liking myself helped me push towards making drastic change. I started off my fitness journey solely for the results as I went on many yo-yo diets.
The reason behind working out was to lose weight and feel good about myself, but during the beginning stages of my journey everything was quite drastic. My workouts were insanely long and brutal and my calories were so low that it became unhealthy.
Fitness can easily be unhealthy if done incorrectly just like anything else in life. As time went on I began to acquire knowledge through my own experience and from the fitness influencers that I have been following. I’ve been working out religiously for about six years and I’m fortunate to continue my passion.
My future goal is to compete in a local classic bodybuilding show in the junior division before I turn 23 years old to display the physique that I’ve been working on. As well as, to inspire and motivate others to fall in love with fitness and bodybuilding without making any of the mistakes I made. I also understand that this lifestyle and sport is a marathon not a sprint and the only way to be successful is to fall in love with the game.
