“I played a lot of sports when I was younger, I played basketball, soccer, tried ball hockey for a year it wasn’t my thing. And then baseball was what I enjoyed the most, I found it the most fun of any sport and coincidentally it was what I was best at. So I first started just for fun, my mom always said that she wanted my sister and I to be involved a lot of activity so we didn’t get into trouble so that’s kind of how baseball started and I just fell in love with the game, wanted to keep doing it, and eventually it became a point where it took over my life and I couldn’t play other sports but at the same time I was okay with that, because baseball was what I had a future in and that’s what I wanted to do. The fitness aspect, after trying to be in peak shape as best as you can basically year round because that’s the baseball season, you never really have time off. That just kind of helped and that’s carrying over to the gym, my work ethic and motivation in the gym, and out of the gym as far as school right now goes and work right now goes, baseball’s providing me the team work and time management skills, the respect for superiors and everything that kind of ties into every day life whether it’s work or school or just being at home even, it’s taught me a lot of life skills for sure.” – Liam Stroud, Retired Baseball Pitcher.
