“My mom means everything to me. How do you thank someone for giving up, sacrificing and doing things that you don’t notice that they are even doing, right? I guess just thank you is not good enough but all the little things that she did for me through my high school career and even my college career, like even though they go unnoticed now because my playing career is over and you realize and think back about all the little things such as my mom would get home from work at 2 in the afternoon and we’d be driving over to Langley for practices or games at 3 and she’d be over in Langley till 10 o’oclock at night and then get up the next morning at 5 and go back to work, like my life was her life and it’s just incredible that someone would be able to do that even though I’m her son, I’m her kid but it’s just how much she was willing to invest into me, and my sister too, but my baseball career especially. Like I don’t know how to thank someone for that kind of thing.” – Liam Stroud, Retired Baseball Pitcher. (3/7)
