“I love what I do every day and that’s my motivation to succeed. It’s not really to win a medal or to win a race, I’ve actually never won a ski cross race but I don’t care, I love what I’m doing every day. I love representing my country and I love working hard and giving back and inspiring kids like here today, that’s all part of it and I genuinely love doing that. That is what makes what I do worth it. For cycling I thought of a crazy goal and idea and try to become a summer Olympian, like why not? I think the biggest challenge for a lot of people is kind of just going for it, it sounds really easy and cliché to say but a lot of people struggle with ‘just going for it’. Life’s too short to contemplate on ‘what ifs’.” – Georgia Simmerling, 3x Olympian in 3 different sports (Alpine Skiing, Ski Cross, Track Cycling (Bronze Medal in Rio 2016 Olympics)), on her passion for sport and why we shouldn’t be afraid to go for our dreams.
