“I’ve never excelled as a high level athlete growing up but I am glad to say I can be there for ones that are. I’ve traveled and treated a full range of patients from amateur to pro. Cirque du soleil and Olympic/Paralympic games being some highlights. I’ve taken some of my own experiences from injuries and be able to utilize those experiences to make sure I give patients the appropriate care. It’s a wonderful feeling to see your patients that have had successful achievements but in between there also comes some failure and re-motivation. Within a Massage room you can have quality one on one time with a athlete that helps you get to know them better, to know if they need a pick me up or a get to work type attitude. It’s easy for me to assist in the growth of an athlete and their sport but it’s the athlete that has to dominate and put in the hours to achieve it.” – Erin Reid, Registered Massage Therapist at Fortius Center, Member of the Core Medical Team during Vancouver 2010 Olympics.
