“Hardest thing I’ve had to go through are my injuries. Injuries suck, seriously, especially when they don’t get any better. Minor injuries take weeks or a month and they suck but you get back. I’ve had long term ones though and honestly they are the worst. They really get you down, you go through periods of just like ‘what’s the point of even trying to train or do anything’ because you keep getting held back. You get minor depressions almost, like why am I even trying? So my advice is to try everything, try and fix it. You can get into this self defeated feeling where you’re kind of like ‘It’s not getting any better, there’s nothing you can do’, so keep pushing and keep asking people about new things. Number 2, unless it’s like a major injury you can usually get around with it with some things right, you can switch from running to biking to cross train. For me I had to adapt all my workouts to fit my knee. There’s always something you can do, it might not be something you want, or the sport you want but there’s something you can do.” – Ben Muench, Kayaker. (2/2)
