“I have been fairly successful at a national level in the sport of kayak racing and the sport of powerlifting and I’m proud of what I’ve achieved in both of these sports but these accomplishments don’t define who I am. After giving up competing in both of sports I had to find who I was and how to use my strengths to continue to live a happy life and achieve my goals. I knew that two of these strengths were fitness and helping others; and I wanted to fitness to be my hobby, my get away from the rest of the world time. So I focused on helping others and making it into a career. I now work 50 hours a week in the emergency room where everyday I see families say goodbye to their loved ones for the last time, but I also get to be apart of parents that welcome their newborn into the world and see the excitement about how their lives are changing. Seeing the darkest and happiest moments in peoples lives makes me appreciate where I am in my life. It makes me live everyday with happiness that I get to help others in their time of need. I still maintain my fitness by working out whenever I can and by climbing the occasional mountain. And I couldn’t be happier doing it. My biggest advice to someone would be to find your strengths and find a way to make it a passion and do it everyday and you will be successful.” –#HankfitFam Austen Czuleger.
