“I don’t know if it has ever really pushed me to become better, I think what really pushes me is I’m very interested in it. Obviously you want to continue to grow in order to help him and your athletes get better. So by me understanding more and learning more to help improve their game then that’s going to help me in the long run right? That is more important to me than anything. Yeah, it’s awesome to see him have success and obviously he’s my brother and I love him and I’m proud of him but it’s also nice to see a kid who’s 14 years old go from a bantam A2 team to playing Major Midget in 2 years and making that jump. I think that’s rewarding too right? Don’t get me wrong, Ryan was going to be good no matter who he trained with. Every hockey player or every athlete I work with I feel the same way. These guys, they will get better as long as they work hard and have a love for what they’re doing, but I believe I can help them get better quicker and more efficiently in ways they maybe wouldn’t be able to elsewhere. However, at the end of the day the reason they are where they are is because of the individual, not because of me.” – Adam Nugent-Hopkins, Strength and Conditioning Coach at Fortius Center. (2/2)
